The Royal Free Hospital Medical Simulation Centre

The Royal Free Hospital has developed a state of the art Medical Simulation Centre. The open access centre of excellence serves healthcare professionals by offering easy access to brand new high fidelity simulators within the surgical and medical field.

Brief

The brief was to design and develop a simple and intuitive website that allows the user to book time and pay for the simulators and courses as well as access information on the simulators and the centre. The website needed to be fully updatabale by the Medical Simulation Centre staff to allow them to update and add new courses, simulators and information to the site.

What we did

Website Design - A soothing and modern design, we used shades of purple together with imagery of the simulators and the centre to invoke a sense of space and openess with the user. Bold call to action buttons have been used to direct the user to primary areas of the site - simulator and course booking.  

Website Development - We created a highly functional and intelligent site which uses our very own content management system (The EHD Administration Suite) together with a plethora of bespoke programming to give the client full control of the site as well as the 'hotel style' booking system that allows the user to book both courses and simulators online. The site is also automated in as many areas to make managing the system extremely easy. For example time slots will automatically book out when a user books a simulator and course availability will automatically drop when a user books themselves onto that course. The site also allows users to download pdf's for extra information - these along with all images on the site are fully updateable by the client.
